Hotel investment in Costa Rica has grown during the last years
After
the crisis of 2009 the industry slowly recovers, many companies were
indebted and with problems in the banking sector, which prevented them
from retrieving his credit. However in Costa Rica hotel investment has
soared in the past 3 years.
Tourism presents a significant boom characterized by a greater intent on business and strategy for success.
During
the crisis, the industry suffered a stagnation of hundreds of hotels
five stars, especially along the coast, where there is greater demand.
According to Carlos Hernández, spokesman of the Pellas Development
Group, there are several factors favoring the growth as the airport in
Liberia, Guanacaste, among others.
Notwithstanding
that in Costa Rica the adjustment in the construction and development
of the large hotels is extremely rigid, many of them have chosen to
develop a tourism much more friendly to the environment, for example the
hotel Holiday Inn in Escazú, San José.
"Now
is an organic investment, almost always added to a proven system of
international sales and solid concepts," said Gustavo Segura, President
of Grupo Punta Islita.
Employers
have attached also to the features offered by the country through its
international tourism marketing campaigns. For example conditions
natives of Costa Rica, and the concept of harmony luxury and nature.
In
2011 for example, according to the federate College of engineers and
architects, grew the amount of square meters processed for construction
in n 249% over the previous year.
Employment
